The South West Volleyball Association appreciates the importance of volunteers in our sport and the huge contribution they make.
The Annual Awards go a little way to recognise their contribution and we hope that clubs and members will nominate those who they believe have put in their time and energy to assure the future development of volleyball.
Well done to all our winner:
2026 Doreen Dingle Award for administration – Sarah Newstead
Awarded to an administrator who has, over a number of years, made a significant contribution of time and effort, provides high quality administration and who continuously displays an outstanding commitment in a club (including schools and other organisations with a volleyball section), area association or the regional association.

Sarah (Wiltshire Mavericks Women) with the 2025/26 SW Division 1 winners trophy.
2026 Commitment to SW Volleyball – Janet Leach
An award for a volunteer who has made a significant contribution of time and effort and who continuously displays (or has displayed) an outstanding commitment to volleyball in and across the region and / or a local association.
2026 Coaches Award – Neil Bentley
Awarded to coaches in recognition for their contribution and dedication to volleyball and the development of coaching in the region or its local areas.

2026 Contribution to Volleyball – Keeva Pengelly
An award for a younger volunteer (e.g. administrator, coach or referee) who has made a significant contribution to a volleyball activity (club, local or regional). It is intended that this award will recognise recent contribution, rather than ongoing commitment over many years.
2025 Bert Williams Referees Award – Darina Karpenko
Awarded, in memory of Bert Williams, to referees in recognition for their contribution and dedication to volleyball and the development of refereeing in the region or its local areas.
